Another week of 365 Plays at The Elephant Asylum

She: I love a gray day. I forgot how much.
He: Me too.
She: I hope we dont move out there and miss this gray. And the view from here.
He: The view from here is great, yeah.
She: Like you said, remember? "Sometimes, nothing beats standing in the shadow of a tall building."
He: Yeah.

I couldn't be more pleased with the state of Los Angeles theatre these days. 365 is showing us the best of the best theatre in LA. And luckily, this week's theatre will be showing their set of plays for another 2 days.

If you've taken our recommendation on 365 before, take it again. Just make sure to call ahead and make reservations (it's free!) as last night was a full house.

This set of seven short plays starts with Gopher and Chuck, who we met last week, still talking about pissing on the Chevy Impala because it's supposed to feel good. That's unless you got an STD from that "nameless chick" you fucked the other night. Within seconds, you are transformed into a time that might be the end of the civil war. Then back to modern time and onto Pearl Harbor with a kitschy male/female role reversal. If war isn't enough of a theme this week, then watch out for the ego of Napoleon.

The Elephant Theatre Company started with a true passion for theatre in 1995 with a play in a downtown loft home on a hot 110 degree day. This is the kind of strong theatre we need to support because it's damn good. Costumes, sound, lighting and all, if anyone took 365 as seriously, it was Elephant.

Located at 6320 Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood, The Elephant Asylum Theatre will present two more nights of 365 tonight and tomorrow. The free play begins at 7:30 p.m. and you need to call ahead and make reservations.
