Kelly Ripa tells Rosie She's Not Homophobic Towards Clay
Monday we posted a video clip of Kelly Ripa and special guest host Clay Aiken. While Kelly was interviewing "Dancing with the Stars" winners, Aiken covered Ripa's mouth so he could ask a question.
Ripa objected and told Aiken that she didn't know where his hand had been. Most people, including Rosie O'Donnell, assumed that Ripa was referring to Aiken's alleged penchant for "fisting" men... whatever "fisting" is...
Yesterday Ripa called into "The View" to berate O'Donnell for jumping to that conclusion, and explained that she meant that she had seen Aiken shake hands with members of the audience, and she didn't want to catch the germs from the filthy housewives and tourists that frequent the "Live with Regis and Kelly" studio audience.
We are thrilled to have this matter settled.

I do believe Kelly WALKED IN HOLDING Clay's hand. She wasn't concerned about germs then, was she. Shame on you Clay, shaking hands with the audience. What a nice thing to do. Does that mean recent germ phobic Kelly don't shake hands with her audience?
The very Kelly that has at least TWICE PUT HER HANDS on REGIS'S MOUTH on the show. The video of that is all over the Internet. Where is her respect? She is simply Kathie Lee's replacement. Regis is the show.
Kudos to Rosie. Ripa's comment was indeed homophobic. Ripa has pull a homophobic stunt on Clay before with dressing as him and kissing Regis on the lips.
Her actions are worse then Michael Richards or Mel Gibson. They immediately apologized. She pulled one homophobic stunt and now this one. Instead of apologizing, she is playing the victim. Before she was called on it by Rosie, the Kelly fans aka Clay haters were spamming the message boards with hateful sexual insults. Now like Ripa, they are all now suddenly germ phobics.

Kelly is not homophobic. So please stop with this craziness. Clay was out of line. Co-hosts on for a day do not lead the show and he was acting like a spoiled child.
I love Rosie but she jumped to the wrong conclusion. If anything Clay could be accused of sexism. Would he have been as disrespectful if Regis or another man had been the co-host?
I doubt there was any hidden slur in Kelly's comment. As Freud is reputed to have said: "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar."
Let's go on to another topic, shall we.

As a gay man I too would make the same statement that Kelly made ... only I would've added "Honey" at the end! Rosie please shut the F*** up ... your words don't speak for all GAYS!!!

LAlist, of all people, doesn't know what "FISTING" means? Get real!

I am not gay - but I agree with Larry - Rosie does not speak for all gays - so shut up and do whatever you are suppose to be doing on The View besides constantly berating people.

I agree with Kelly, I think it was very rude of Clay and unprofessional. I would be upset even if a member of my own family did that to me. He is not 5 years old any more. And yes I do think is a very good singer, but it is time to use good manners too.
I enjoy and respect Rosie and we all have our first impressions of anything that we hear or see for the first time, but once Kelly called and explained why she did not feel comfortable with people in general putting their hand over her mouth, then there was no reason for Rosie not to say you are right Kelly, and I am sorry that my comments came across as an insult to your integrity. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS WORLD TODAY NOT BEING ABLE TO SAY THE WORD SORRY AND MEAN IT!

Dee demonstrates what is wrong with so many people in this world. How can you possibly compare what "happened" with Kelly Ripa and Clay Aiken to what Michael Richards said? What she did, even if you think she did it because he is gay, is not even in the same ball park as screaming at people using the N word. Learn your history. Read a book or two. And take off the blinders so you can look at the world from someone else's perspective now and then. If you have nothing nice or intelligent to say please cover your mouth. Use your own hand or borrow someone else's, since you apparently have no problem with that kind of thing.

But wait y'all Clay Aiken is "not gay!"

No, Clay isn't gay but the gay gossips don't ever let a little thing like the truth get in the way.
