Ted Haggard Talking About Homosexuality in "Jesus Camp"

We've got no problem with gays. We've got no problem with Christians. Hell, some of our best friends are Republicans.

What we have a problem with are people with power who live gigantic lies and influence legislation that they don't really believe in.

Ted Haggard would love it if gays got married, or if gays truly had equal rights. He'd love it because then it wouldn't have been so hard for him to admit that he was gay, and it wasn't a choice for him.

The intolerance that the allegedly open-minded Christian deity that was Jesus is one of the most fascinating portions of the Bible. Even though Jesus brought the softer side to God by preaching a new direction like turning the other cheek instead of the more aggressive eye-for-an-eye of the Old Testament, He doesn't budge on homosexuality.

Who better to frame that conundrum than an uptight father of five gay pastor? Who better to cut the bullshit and explain his struggle between what appears to be a Mexican Divine Standoff? LAist believes that if indeed God looks at homosexuality as a sin, and if indeed Jesus paid for all of our sins, keyword "all", then that allows for homosexuality to fit into a Christian church because it would be saying "yes they're sinning according to the Bible, but if you read closely the rest of you are sinning just as much. How many of you kept the Sabbath holy this weekend?"

So by preaching bullshit that he didn't really believe, instead of harnessing all the spiritual goodness that a man with a MegaChurch should have, Pastor Ted wasted a perfectly good opportunity simply because instead of reading the Bible he was getting gay massages and snorting rails.

And that's why LAist is in favor of bible reading this fall instead of lying and doing blow.

Living in sin. Who gives a rats ass about any of this crap. Ted's not the first holier than thou Reverend, Pastor, Preacher to fall on his sword and I'll guarantee he won't be the last. Most, IMHO, if not all of these over zealous religious types have some skeletons in the closet, some bigger than others but all have them. One of my better days and best of life's memories was the day the dragged the freak, Jim Bakker down the steps of the court house in leg irons! Tears streaming down his face and kicking like a little boy throwing a freaking fit. Just desserts indeed! Just another on a long and growing list of typical lying bastard holy rolling fools!

That was how long ago? Anyway he served his time, and is now doing the same thing, only this time his also producing and directing on Hollywood with some of the biggest names. (like many of the new evangelists who have deep pockets to blow on productions, et.) What have you done lately, besides cracking jokes about Christians, etc. Someone will want to kick your ass buddy. You better watch what you say about these people. Its discrimination idiot
