In an demonstration of commitment to lifesaving for the homeless animals of Los Angeles, LA Animal Services General Manager Ed Boks has declared this Veterans Day Weekend, November 10-November 13, a "no-kill" weekend for the North Central Animal Care Center. For this period, LA Animal Services will implement a moratorium on the killing of healthy/treatable animals and focus on saving as many lives as possible through redemption (returning lost animals to their guardians) and adoption.

Here's something I've noticed since I moved here. People who don't live here have a STRONG opinion about LA. People who came for 2 days and went to Hollywood and read the names of famous people in star shaped pieces of cement have decided they know this place as well as they know their home town.

The last 2 times I went back to San Francisco for a visit, I had a guy try to hit on me in a bar with "Wow, you live in LA? LA sucks." First of all, that's a bad pick up line.
