Drunken Spelling Bee comes to LA

A Drunken Spelling Bee. Wow. While we would like to thank the organizers of tonight's 4-Square Championships at the Met Theater downtown for including the brilliant concept of a "take a shot and then spell this word" battle in with their arguably more athletic festivities tonight, we've got some questions about the whole set-up:

1. Is there a study list for this, or are we on our own?
2. Is the word pronouncer going to be drunk as well?
3. Is this going to be a beer-chug or more like a tequila shot for each word?
4. Is this just an excuse to round up us nerds who like to spell in order to hit us with red rubber playground balls?

Something about the lack of information about the spelling contest along with the throbbing beat of "Eye of the Tiger" on the event page leads us to believe that the grand prize is the honor of getting the crap beat out of us by the winner of the 4-square game.

Ass-whooping starts at 9, and is $5 for spectators, $10 for contestants.
