Yup, I was a juror on duty that day too and heard the news after lunch. There were many people who witnessed the entire thing and were giving their statements to the personnels on my floor. I thought it would be on the news, but this is the only article I found.

Why isn't the roof of the criminal court building better protected? My mom works in at the St.Vincent jewlery building and she was stepping out for coffee a few weeks ago when a man got pushed out of a window and landed about 15feet away from her. Downtown is just a crazy ass place.

Hey, Amy. Well said. There's no rulebook, but it's pretty common knowledge around broadcast newsrooms that we don't cover suicides for the reasons stated.

The story I heard was that the woman jumped after her son was convicted of some crime.

Most suicides go unreported because stats show it leads to more suicides .. makes the act more romantic/meaningful. Most news outlets don't report them unless the person was newsworthy before death and/or if it was in a very public place.
