Downtown Burger King To Donate All Sales Today

If you find yourself going east down Sunset today near Downtown, you might want to pull over at that Burger King near that BBQ joint, because there's something very sweet happening there today.
From 6 a.m. to midnight, the owners of the BK at 700 W. Cesar E. Chavez Ave. have decided to donate all today's sales to the family of a slain LAPD officer who died last month.
Landon Dorris was investigating an accident on Sunday, October 22, when he was hit by a car in Silver Lake at Riverside and Hyperion. He left behind a wife and two sons.
Larry and Ralph Cimmarusti of the Burger King five miles away were so moved by the tragedy that they decided to offer the generous charity to the Dorris boys.
"This is our community," Ralph Cimmarusti told CBS2. "Anything we can do to ensure these two young kids are taken care of, we need to do."
LAist knows where we're eating lunch.
And, Larry and Ralph Cimmarusti, you are the LAists of the Day.

These are the same Cimmarusti's that gave a huge gift - I think $1 million - to Glendale Community College back in the 90s. The Cimmarusti Science Center (an older, smaller version of the new Griffith Observatory - it has its own planetarium too) is named after them.
