The NBC Morning News

When The Peacock announced this week that it was going to have to slash 700 jobs in order to compete with those television geniuses over at Fox and the CW, we at LAist decided that we should chip in and help with a round-up of NBC news this morning. You know, to give them some rainbow-feathered love.

Tina Fey's "30 Rock" and the John Lithgow-Jeffrey Tambor "Twenty Good Years" slipped to 5th place Wednesday making it the lowest-rated network comedies this fall - Variety

Giving into pressure from the Christian whiners, NBC has decided to edit out the most interesting part of the Madonna concert that is planned on airing next month: her singing "Live To Tell" while attatched to a huge crucifix. Doesn't NBC realize that real Christians are told repeatedly in their bibles to forgive and not to judge? - LA Times

Hey some good news: "My Name is Earl" hottie Jamie Pressly isn't pregnant, she's just getting married to her nebbish bestfriend of nine years. Which gives hope to all of us who are bff's with bikini and Playboy models. - People

Even though Jeff Zucker had announced that NBC would be trying a "Reality at 8" strategy because those scripted shows are just too damn expensive to create, NBC's Kevin Reilly said that "The Office" and "My Name is Earl" won't be moving any time soon from their 8pm slot on Thursdays. LAist recommends that that the suits get their stories straight before they start talking about their primetime plans. kthnxbi - Variety

Last week on the morning news I heard a 1941 penny could be worth $500.00. Is it worth $500.00? I have a family memeber who is in possession of one and I would like to know where she needs to go to turn it in.
