Free Hugs, the Video

Usually the Midnight Movie has a subject that's tied to Los Angeles in some way, even faintly. Sometimes it's a local band from days gone by, or a short film, or even a trailer.

Tonight we present to you something that has nothing at all to do with our fine city, other than the fact that if someone walked around with a sign offerring "free hugs", the same situation might befall him as what happened to "Juan Mann" in this clip.

Enjoy this moving and interesting video that seems to be giving the Aussie band Sick Puppies, whose music is featured here, a huge burst of popularity down under, as well as all over the web and YouTube.

i saw a maybe 15 year old fat dykey looking girl with "FREE HUGS" written on her arms in sharpie and a "FREE HUGS" cardboard apron on.

My first impulse was to hug her but I didn't.

and I'm still regretting that for some reason.

Everything old is new again. Imitation is best form of flattery. Can I think of anymore trite sayings that apply? I like hugs as much as the next guy but Dave Matthews did this back in 2001.
