One might argue that it is hard to look bad in a Tony Duran photograph. The man most famous for taking pics of an early J. Lo (his house even has a plaque out front that says "The House That J. Lo Built") and owning the rights to syndication, thus making him a rich, rich man has a new exhibit for us to see. Visually stunning and beautiful, Duran's opening last night at Interior Illusions Gallery on Santa Monica and La Cienega was quite the studded affair. ** Small sidenote - no valet, what's up with that? ** The dress was formal and everyone got all decked up to see Duran's celebrity pictures of just about everyone from TomKat, Lindsay, Orlando, Sandy Bullock, Beyonce, Antonio Sabato Jr. and many more.
Minnie Driver tried to be incognito under a men's hat until she got comfortable and then started chatting. Jonathan Anton needed no warming up - surprise. Paris, oh Paris strolled in for 3 mintes, looked around, got her picture taken, looked bored and then walked out. The art appreciator she is. Pauly Shore apparently needs no stinking formal wear as he sat with a wrinkled shirt on a couch in the back for most of the night. If you were paying attention, the woman at the door also works Les Deux and nice touch with the black wristbands, very chic as far as wristbands go.
But back to the show, Duran's nudes are even more stylish and chic than the other photographs, a true artistic and talented artist, this show is worth a visit to the gallery. It runs until November 12th.
