Malibu Poop Under Investigation

Somebody call the Mayor of Malibu because there seems to be a septic controversy. It appears that the sprawl off the PCH is causing feces to soil the world-famous beaches and no one is owning up, so the County might have to do some DNA testing on the doo.

"This is going to get messy," predicts Mark Pestrella, the Los Angeles County public works official tasked with the project.

Loyalty to septic systems runs deep in a city that was incorporated to stop construction of a sewer line. Residents who fiercely deny that their tanks are the source of ocean bacteria also fiercely guard their privacy and their right to flush the estimated 2,400 septic tanks in a city strung along 25 miles of coast. - CNN

LAist refuses to take the labels off of generic bottles of gravy and re-label them as "Celebrity Sludge", but we did think about it.
