The nudie shots and good grammer. "Every week we've got something sweet to stoke you, the gentle LAist readers with." BRILLIANT

I love LAist because of all reading.

I love watching Tony Pierce bend the strictures of the "-ist"-world to his will.

I love LAist because it keeps me entertained when i'm high.

LAist never kooks out on a wave.
LAist never paddles out to waves that are overhead.
LAist never throws rocks at me because i ain't a local.
LAist never gives names and directions to secret surf spots.
And LAist would never bore the public with surf tales and pictures.

I love LAist because they give you free tickets to shows. They have advertising that isn't too intrusive. They let me read only the LA Times but still keep up on things the paper misses. I love LAist because I'm part of LA.

It's not cool to be racist.
It's not cool to be sexist.
It's not cool to be ageist.

But it is cool to be LAist.

LAist lets Ventura-ists know what's happenin' south.

Laist has great restaurant recommendations and helps me know what's going on around town. It posts relevant stories and doesn't overload you with pointless gossip. And most importantly, it offers free stuff!

I love LAist for its great sex advice column.
Go ahead, ladies, it's OK to have a threeway.
This blog says so.
No, seriously, please have a threeway.

I thought we were supposed to e-mail...here it is again.

"5. Restaurant/festival/movie/concert reviews that are relevant/similar to my tastes
4. Things that REALLY matter (USC football, dodgers, TV premieres)
3. Bitching about things in life we all bitch about, giving the blogs a little more sense of community and personal relationships with the readers (yes I have friends outside of the internet. Actually I don't think I have any friends on the internet. It's not my thing. But I'm glad I'm not alone in hating mechanics/public relations with whatever company I am be affiliated with).
2. These free giveaway opportunities.
1. Introducing me to the love of my life atm (Banksy)

And those youtube clips are always fun to watch when you're bored. "

We like LAist because we come home from the job and the traffic and the last thing we want to do is listen to our gf bitching about the checkout girl at Von's, so instead we read about girls and rock and roll and reality TV shows, and our IQ goes down a little less than if we'd co-steamed with the gf. But we have our priorities: we love the gf. LAist, we like.

LAist balances the cerebral with the prosaic with the magical with the sobering. That's Angeleno life for ya'.

i love LAist because it will always be unfinished, like that poem kubla khan. sometimes, i think blog entries are written after being awoken from an opium-induced sleep, just like the poem, but still end up beautiful.

I love the latest tip. The latest tip deserves more love. Its all about the little things.

I'm at work. I'm staring at the screen. I'm stressed. I procrastinate by going to your site. On the weekend when other blogs seem to hibernate, you're still doin' it. That's good. And, unlike a certain site that shall remain nameless, I don't have to be SOMEBODY to post. That's good. OK, so I'm fuckin' addicted to your goddamn site. That doesn't disqualify me, does it?

A Good Fit.

There is no doubt that Los Angeles is massive.
Sprawling.
It cannot be compartmentalized,
homogenized,
nor even accurately described.

But the LAist is no apathetic fool,
for it cares about the artists,
the revolution
small potatoes, big potatoes
cultural fluctuations
rick dees.

Unlike so much in LA,
it's never about the number.

LAist, Much Love.
..............................

p.s. deadlines are flexible in LA.

i love LAist because i don't have to bother reading blogging.la anymore :)

I want to know! did i win, huh? i've never won anything before, so did i?

Some one compared you to kubla kahn?? Well this might be a lost cause...

Without trying, LAist sympathizes with my every pet peeve and ever-so-elusive joy I find in living inSIDE the giant, hollow but glittery sphere we call LA (tourists only stay long enough to skim through the glitter...which - I'm sure - sticks to them only to wind up in the strangest of places).

F-ing runaway metaphors. LAist also understands my love for Beck...sans the scientology.

...[holds hands out with eyes closed a la Invader Zim] GIMMIE!

I love LAist for its frequent updates, because every post has a pic, and because it never pretends to be too important.
