Giving the Black Dahlia a Good Licking

Just in time for this weekend's release of The Black Dahlia, the 1947 Project's bloggy brain trust has assembled a Crime Bus tour focused exclusively on this morsel of local lore that will take passengers to dozens of sites that played a part in the real life and death of murder victim Elizabeth Short, as well as locations figuring in her posthumous
myth.

But there's a tasty bonus.

Scoops gelato has created a new "Black Dahlia" flavor to both honor her memory and tantalize the palates of the Crime Bus passengers. We're not entirely sure what the flavor components will be like, but Scoops' gelato artisan Tai Kim is considering ingredients that might include squid ink, black sesame, jasmine, basil and tomato, to represent the young girl who looked so striking and died so terribly. This limited edition Black Dahlia gelato will debut on Friday, September 15 and be available at Scoops during regular business hours on Saturday, September 16 and for the Crime Bus only on Sunday September 17. A taste is guaranteed for everyone on the Real Black Dahlia Crime Bus Tour. We can't guarantee it will taste great, given its specs, but it may well be as worthy of investigation as, say...a murder.

The Real Black Dahlia Crime Bus Tour debuts on Saturday 9/16 and repeats 9/17. Tickets are $47/person and include gelato.
