E-Mail Newsletters That Rock: Ideal Bite

They say they are a "sassier shade of green." They also have nothing specifically to do with Los Angeles, but it's still worth mentioning because we have a Mayor who wants us to be greener and we have a lot of people who feel the same. We thinks you should too.

The concept behind Ideal Bite is an easy one — if we all knew what to do in our day-to-day lives to help impact the planet and our communities positively and painlessly (and without preachiness), we would all do it. And if that know-how came to us in a fun, pithy, sometimes irreverent way — so much the better.

Right on. We'll be pithy too and just lead you to their site to explore your inner-green as we go shopping for the organic beers recommended by today's e-mail (true link will be posted soon).

You want to be EXTREMELY careful about what they 'recommend.' First e-mail I got: urged me to buy water filter --junk. Well-known brand so poor: worse than using tap water because parasites can breed over-night in it, but unknown to user; doesn't meet minimum international standards for water filter products, something they are ignorant of. I wrote them that, no reply. Read their page: heavily into promos, PR, marketing --short on tech knowledge. Slick sizzle way isn't going to help planet or humans.
