"We're at war and politicians like Waters and Pete Stark are the flip side of David Duke and other racists."

Did you just try to denounce Maxine Waters as being the flip side of racists?

I think there's a reason why you don't link to a web site.

WTF? You call that carrying an argument? What about the larger issues of the country? So she can scream and rant and rave? If she got up one day and accused Bush of selling crack at the corner of Sunset and Robinson, would you be giving her big props then? Probably.

I have no respect for politicians who substitute screaming for working for the larger national interests of the country. Maxine represents her peeps. So what? She doesn't care about the rest of the country. That's my point. We're at war and politicians like Waters and Pete Stark are the flip side of David Duke and other racists.

Maxine Waters built her career on racial division and peddling anger. There are plenty of Democrats who I respect. Al Gore for one. Bill Bradley, Bill Clinton, and Joe Lieberman for other examples. But those are Democrats who think in terms of the larger national interests of the country, not just in terms of their "peeps". Maxine Waters never thought outside her own little box.

But she is a hell of a bullet point in one of our fundraising letters, let me tell you.

Oh, I've been in politics for awhile. Learn one lesson if you don't learn anything else. It's only August. Election is in November.

section 9, thats quite a point of view.

however, Dems love your boy Dubya. forget fundraising dollars. because of BushCo they're on par to get back congress and the white house. he's not much of a conservative, and now he's winning seats for the other side.

but what do i care, im an independent. i just wanted to remind you that Maxine doesnt have to move to a red state to prove anything to you, particularily since shes lived here for 40 years and is representing her peeps.

and one more thing, calling people moonbats etc doesnt do much for your credibility. one of the nice things about the freedoms here in these united states is the freedom to vote for whatever idiot you want. when people stoop to the level of namecalling out of lack of actual point, things get a little dull.

please dont be dull in the comments of the LAist. kthnx

Maxine Waters is a moonbat. Which is okay for her. She can represent a district, like the execrable Pete Stark up in Oakland, and peddle the politics of hateful paranoia and get elected time after time.

Guess what, nobody cares what Maxine Waters thinks. Same for Pete Stark. She's part of the Democrats' Moonbat caucus. Moonbat Democrats come from safe, heavily Blue Districts that will never be contested by a Republican until, say, the 2050 election cycle. They have no real power in Congress with one exception, Conyers on Judiciary. If Maxine had to run in purple district in a Red State, she'd get her ass kicked into a Congressional Pension.

You'll never see Maxine as Ranking Member of any committee, because the Democratic Party Leadership is smart enough not to put a Moonbat up as the face of their party.

Nobody ever accused the Clintons of being idiots.

By the way, here's a secret. We Republicans love Maxine. She's a fantastic source of fundraising dollars for us. Having her campaign for the Democrats this year is like inviting Richard Nixon to an Alger Hiss Testamonial Dinner.

The Democrats are insane fools who continue to lose because they have failed to learn from the Republicans who ceased caring about being taken seriously as a party years ago. Waters is one of the few who remain successful by actually doing what she is paid to do: represent the people who voted her in.

And how dare you try to diss the woman on her birthday behind a fake and cowardly fake name, Mr. Limbaugh.

Speak for yourself. She's an insane fool who ruins any chance democrats have of being taken seriously as a party.
