What the LA Blogs are talking about Today

aldavis.jpg This round up is in honor of the Raiders, who are playing a pre-season game against the Minnesota Vikings tonight at 5pm on Monday Night Football on ESPN; the game marks Randy Moss's first return to the Twin Cities.

LA Observed lets us know that the times they are a-changing. The L.A. Times will no longer provide the TV Times to Sunday subscribers unless they call and ask for it. The rise of TiVo and DIRECTV, whose listings are actually on the TV (where they belong) is the probable cause for the change. LAO points us to Todd Everett who breaks it down. Franklin Ave. is also on the scene.

In a tale that is definitely NSFW, xTx talks about a dream she had about a fellow blogger. LAist approves of these sorts of dreams.

Martini Republic warns us about the possibility of the Festival of Lights being accessible only by foot. Hey, LADWP, nobody walks in LA. We love our cars, we need our cars, and the cars want to see the pretty lights too.

Los Anjealous has the best contributor of any local group blog: that totally insightful Mr. T. doll, who gives the best tours of LA. Today he's at the Neverland Ranch, which is technically a black neighborhood.

And finally, Defamer lets us locals know that if we don't want to see Mates of State with Death Cab and Spoon at the Greek, that we can check out Black Heart Procession at the Knitting Factory, or screen the Matt Dillion-as-Charles Bukowski "Factotum" at LACMA at 7:30pm. Currently LAist is posting a Bukowski video every night at midnight to celebrate the film, which opens officially on Friday.
