FRIDAY BAND: HORSE THE BAND

do not confuse them with "are they already old news?" indie pop act band of horses. HORSE the band has delicious extremo time signatures and face slashing synth riffs and a perfect sense of humor (seriously check out the website) and they are fantastic imperfect moshy emo deathcore hilarity they are going to be AWESOME and probably on the prowl for free pizza.

SATURDAY BAND: THE THERMALS
8pm the echo
the thermals are pretty big nowadays. they are basically punk pop (in a good way) from portland. i like them a lot but i always get this feeling that they're forever riding the cusp of being truly great and timeless and scrumtrulescent. nonetheless they put on a fun live show, energetic and slightly dorky in that awesome northwestern punk way, like their mom is watching every show with tears of pride in her eyes. you can't not like the thermals.

SUNDAY BAND: THE GRIS GRIS
8pm the echo
i have already declared my wholesome boner for this band, i should not need to tell you again: GO SEE THE GRIS GRIS. they make beautiful sense out of senseless ingredients. it's like god times four playing with distortion pedals and your mom all at once back in 1966 with a bowler hat sitting out hoping for enough change to get a few magnums of night train to get them through the next few days. caveat!: if i had my copy of their last cd on my computer i would put a more representative track up here but you will have to be content with what their label has chosen to sample since not all of us digitize our entire music library THANKS.
