Dear LAist... "Shame on You"
hi there
you guys linked to a site called dlisted.com and I check it out. It is filled with mysogynistic, hateful terms like 'bitch, slut, whore.'
shame on you for linking to a site that hates women so much. there goes any credibility you had. i mean, there is a feature on that site called "slut of the month."
how can you link to that site and expect us to take what you write seriously?
shame on you and your lack of journalistic integrity.

dlisted, just like perez hilton and several other gossip sites that we, and literally millions of other blogs, link to, use salty language. true. here in america we have a thing called Freedom of Speech that we at LAist sorta like.
while we dont agree with everything that every site that we link to does or writes, we understand that a lot of what the gossip sites do is in good-spirited humor, even when it appears "hateful."
when it does appear that blogs that we like go over the line, we do call them out on it, not because we're worried about some subjective journalism integrity, but because we just dont think it's cool.
dlisted is a good blog that makes fun of celebs. sometimes theyre funny, sometimes theyre not so funny. we take it for what it is. i recommend that you do too.
by the way we also link to foxnews.com on occassion and, well, their "hate" is real, if not subtle. to us thats far more dangerous, but, again, they have the right to do things the way that they wish to as well.
as for journalistic credibility... dude it's a blog on the Internet... LAist, just like every other source on every other medium, should be taken with a grain of salt.

Seriously. I like DListed. I visit regularly (along with dozens of other similar celeblogs).
Goddamnit, it's like Joyce said, "I calls um as I sees um!" (well, not verbatum, but you get the point). Beyond that though, what is this shit about "Do you expect me to take you seriously..." just because you don't agree with him?! What are you, in 4th grade!? That's a very mature attitude.

The person who write at Dlisted is a very poor writer. Using bathroom humor and words like slut and bitches for comedy shows a sign of low intellect. It doesn't take much to call someone a whore.
