A.M. News: 80 Years To Fix The Sidewalk & Other Fun...

Yesterday, sidewalk laws at the Daily News. Today, sidewalk repairs at The L.A. Times. With just less than 50% (5,000 miles) of LA sidewalks to repair, the city moves on with its 50/50 program.
Burbank and Glendale fight abandoned grocery cart blight. LAist hears that the city of Los Angeles is working on a new ordinance.
The L.A. Times' Calendar Section takes on museums and blogging. If you're into it, check out MuseumBlogs.org.
Daily News visited the Oxnard Salsa Festival. Move over Strawberry Festival, this rocks! The Festival runs until 7 p.m.
The Long Beach Dragon Boat Festival continues today too.

personally, i love the abandoned shopping cart population. i love the consistency of them; that they appear in the most unlikeliest of neighbourhoods, that they signify a life - a "i was/am here." i love the juxtoposition of insanely priced property and free shopping carts. they are so LA.
