Stereogum Hacked: SUFJAN was a bad Password

stereogumhacked1.jpg

LAist is a huge fan of stereogum. HUGE. We write them but they don't write back, but it's cool. No really, it's cool. In fact there are 13 free mp3s after the jump.

Some might say that over the last four/five weeks LAist has taken a decided turn away from the LA Observed / blogging.la / LA Voice path and down the slippery slope of the stereogum / LA Weekly / Best Page in the Universe path. Those people wouldn't be 100% right, but they wouldn't be 100% wrong either.

Maybe we just like stereogum's fine taste in music. Maybe we just like their comments. Maybe we just are inspired by how they're at all the cool shows. That part we're definitely trying to steal learn from.

With that said, we were just thinking about how sites don't get hacked much any more, but when they do there's always a message attatched. Hackers always have something to say. Usually it's "your security sucks", even though it's pretty obvious by that point. But whatever, it's always slightly interesting. We hope stereogum returns soon, but until then, click the link below and get your mp3s:
