Dance away summer in the city at Giant Village

We, along with about a bazillion other people, were a little more than miffed when Giant Village crashed and burned on New Year's Eve. Heck, that's not even a true statement, since it never took off. But it's been six months, and we think we're over it. At least, that's what out therapists told us.

Or maybe we're over it because Giant Village has risen out of the rainy ashes and is promising to make up for it with this summer's biggest block party, this weekend, Saturday, July 22nd. Same place. Same concept. Only some of the acts will be different. In fact, there will be no "acts" like there were scheduled for NYE, only DJs, and though we are diappointed that we won't be able to watch Fergie shaking her lovely lady lumps, we are more than happy to bounce around five stages that will be pumping out grinding dance music. Oh yes, we'll be there on Saturday night.

And if you happen to see a little Asian girl dressed in all-white, dancing in or around either the Community Stage featuring The Crystal Method and Hybrid or the Flower Stage for John Digweed, tap her on the shoulder to say "Hi!" She's from LAist and wants to say hi to you, too.
