The Burgundy Room Keeps it Real

Probably for good reason, over the last few months I've been growing more and more skeptical about bars located on or around Hollywood Blvd. The predictable DJ sets, expensive drinks, and bad haircuts just haven't been doing it for me.

Thankfully, all hope has not been lost. I was surprisingly satisfied upon entering The Burgundy Room, which literally is, a burgundy room, located on Cahuenga around all the other Hollywood "hotspots".

Maybe it was the vodka tonics and shot of jager I drank...but cheap drinks (for Hollywood standards anyway), an awesome jukebox, and an unpretentious crowd (although still a pack of interesting characters) are three characteristics I look for in a good bar. Plus, I felt like Exene Cervenka would walk through the door at any second and we'd bond over shots of whiskey on the rocks.

Where were you Exene?

Not to be confused with the Room, or is it.

The Room is in the alley across the street

meh, beauty bar across the street and vine bar are MUCH better venues for the same price drinks.

The Burgundy Room is great, except when it's too crowded, then you literally can't move. But then, what good club/bar isn't?

If you are a fan of The Room, it's going to close for a month some time soon for remodelling:
