Dining underground at an Outlaw Dinner

outlaw_dinner.jpg

Though we don't necessarily love fatty fowl liver and absinthe, the idea of chef Robert Gadsby's Outlaw Dinner is appealing simply because of controversy. We love controversy.

On July 27th, Chef Gadsby will present a seven-course dinner at his downtown LA restaurant Noe in the Omni Hotel featuring foods that are a little bit, well, taboo. The menu is inspired by recent attacks on delicacies like fois gras, morel mushrooms, absinthe, hemp seeds, and the technique of sous vide. Heck, we just like saying "sooo veeeed."

Reservations are highly recommended for The Outlaw Dinner, which isn't cheap at $95 per person, but crime don't come cheap.

this is awesome!

i wish i was that adventureous

this sounds interesting and all but WHY are these items going to be banned. that seems to be the most important part of the story not explained.

Absinthe? A poor choice for fine dining. Wormwood tastes like ass, it produces a very strong gag reflex, and it will completely ruin your palette for anything that follows. So make it the final course, or skip it.
