This story is free to read because readers choose to support LAist. If you find value in independent local reporting, make a donation to power our newsroom today.

Face it, the Red Cross has been pretty good to us over the last few years. So why not give up more than a few pints of blood? Tonight from 7p-11p at the Nucleus Gallery (30 West Main Street, Alhambra, 91801) over 100 artists will be presenting work that has been created on 4" x 6" postcard sized mediums.

Do-gooders and art collectors may purchase up to five pieces for $100 each.

Here are the rules:

1. Attendees will be given a number at the door. The first 50 will be allowed into the gallery at 7pm. afterward we will be allowing one person in for each person leaving. Those waiting to get in the gallery can hang out in the store until your number is called in sequence. 2. The bar will be in the front of the store for people waiting to get in the gallery. There will be plenty of trash cans around so please mind your drinks. The only drinks we will be serving are Red Rum and Pineapple.

3. After entering the gallery, browse until you have decided on your purchases, take a pen and write your ticket number underneath the piece on the label: "sold to____". Each person can mark up to 5 pieces. Mark only the pieces you will buy. Pay for the pieces immediately after your pieces have been marked.

4. You may pay for your pieces in cash or credit. We will record your name, and contact info, and the piece you bought on a list for record keeping purposes.

5. Buyers can pick up their purchases starting from 11:00 pm to midnight or the following day or later. No pieces will be released without full payment.

above, an archival print, Nippon Seifuku by Mari Inukai which is 13" x 19" so is disqualified. Available at the Nucleus for $30.
You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
