You know there's really nothing on television when LAist watches a pregnant Britney Spears' sit-down with Matt Lauer for Dateline on NBC last night. (Do you need ratings this badly, Matt?)
It was a tiny little pity party for the Malibu princess -- just in front of a nationwide audience. Getting all teary-eyed when talking about how tough her life is with the media hounding her and her hubby Kevin Federline relentlessly... or how her parenting skills are questioned...ok everybody now: awwwww.
If Britney wants the press to back off, maybe she should work on being a iittle less, umm, herself. Show us how you've grown: Start by getting a stylist (stop wearing the hoochie mama outfits -- we really don't want your boobs that badly), wear less (but make sure it's waterproof) mascara, and finally: Don't do interviews chewing huge wads of gum.
Then Britney, maybe we'll start believing in you and your "happy" marriage to K-Fed.
Another Britney note: She followed Madonna into Kabbalah, now it looks like she might follow Brangelina to Nambia to have baby number two. Oye vey.

I am not a fan, but I feel sorry for her. Yes I do. She is so overwhelmed and no one seems to care. She needs to move back to Podunk Junction, and in a few years, provided that they have learned how to use birth control, she can make a big comeback.(no offense intended to wherever she is really from, she needs to be anywhere but LA). This girl is on the brink of a mental breakdown, and it doesn't seem as though her family gives a damn. Someone in that family needs to use some common sense regarding the care of their meal ticket, or she won't be around much longer. She probably wasn't even aware she was chewing that wad of gum - she is a nervous wreck, and would probably be chain smoking instead if she wasn't pregnant.
I agree with Kate in that Britney should not be in her current location -- the apathy for her character from Angelenos and surrounding citizens is clearly reflected in your article. Britney should get a new stylist and new look? That's your solution for her to mature and the press to back off? Please. The press would be digging deep the surface for a story no matter what.
I wonder about her parents. Where are they and why aren't they supporting her?

SHE'S PREGNANT!!! Im not a fan by no means, but i seen the interview. I do not have kids but Ive been on this earth long enough to have some understanding of female hormons. And her character is called into question because she made some mistakes. This isnt high school anymore kids, it's the whole world watching and waiting to make thier own B/S comments. Hey Wes! We're entitled to our opinions. It's not B/S; it's commenting on someone who has put themselves out there for our review. It's not our fault the reviews are mostly negative. Chewing gum throughout, using air quotes inappropriately, trashy clothes, touting KFed but he was nowhere to be found in the interview itself. She is a wreck!

This chic has a lot of growing up to do. She looked exactly like what she is - sleazy, dirty and stupid. I pity her children. She should use her millions to make some changes in her life. Boot that moronic, freeloading husband of hers, that she never should have married in the first place, take a class on birth control, and move home to Bum Crunk Junction. I love how everyone who is dissing her took an hour out of their life to watch her on TV! How hypocritical can you get?! Even if you're not a fan - surely you can have a bit of sympathy for her. She's so young and confused (like a lot of young mothers) but has to have her every move captured for the world to see, critique and eventually laugh at. Put yourself in her position - you can't walk out of your own house without being chased by fifty photographers. Then, when you're caught on camera crying as a result of this - everyone laughs. At least she ditched Madonna and her cult - oops I mean 'religion'. That's one step in the right direction.

If you want respect maybe you should stop being a hypocrite, sure, Matt Lauer probably did do it for the ratings, but I'm just as sure you wrote this article for the same reasons, to get noticed.

Come on, she's famous, it comes with the job. Like its been said, she has the money to get privacy. She chose the life she has and she's not the only person who has had to deal with things like this. She just does it very poorly.

what the hell? Britney spears is a woman, and a mother, and she has to live her life with everything she does being critisized and bitched about. she cannot go to the store without the magazines making fun of what she's wearing or (as i read once) what she's buying. and worst of all, these horrible magazines are insulting this young womans ability as a mother- and thats way too personal in my opinion. britney is a singer/performer, nothing else, how dare those paparzzi invade her privacy and pull her marriage, her motherhood, and her career down like that. its sick and it crosses the line. britney is a human being and its about time people started treating her like one, hell, she's entertained us for long enough, GIVE HER A BREAK ALREADY! then she can come back and entertain us some more!
