How much is a legend worth?

Maybe you should think about buying a ticket to the Second Annual Hullaballo benefitting the Silverlake Conservatory of Music. The benefit, at the Edendale Grill on June 21, promises to be a swank eastside evening. Rob Zabrecky, who led Possum Dixon and is a magician, will be MC. There will be a dinner buffet, open bar and, of course, live music. Expect performances from the conservatory, Catherine & Jonathan Karoly from the LA Phil and unnanounced guests. The headlining act is Flea (from the Red Hot Chili Peppers), who is the conservatory's founder, performing with Patti Smith — who, with her Lower East Side credentials, is the east-sider-est of all.

Sounds cool, right? The only catch is that it's $250. Then again, it's Patti Smith. She's older than your mom and twice as cool as Madonna. Her recent records have been better than you think.
