E3 has once again hit town, and you've probably been seeing banners, billboards, and strange signs announcing new and upcoming games and platforms. The coolest of them all has the strangest name, the Nintendo Wii. No, it's not French, but it really is stealing the show here. With the innovative new wand-like motion sensing controller, at least it promises to have kids (and we'll admit it, some adults) waving their hands around like a crazed orchestra conductor. So, America's obesity problem will only be from the shoulders down.
The show floor hasn't opened yet, but we've already seen massive ads for new games like the upcoming Dirty Harry game from WB Games...we're sure that will be family friendly. Telltale Games (not LucasArts, the fools) is bringing back (finally!) Sam & Max, the new Nintendo is launching with a new Zelda and a new Mario Bros. Universe game, although we haven't spotted Pac-Man or Frogger yet, but they are sure to be around.
Sony, meanwhile, announced on Monday the pricing for their new PS3 console, which will launch on November 17th. It will set you back a whopping $499 for the base model, and $599 for the tricked out model. Ouch. Granted, it does include a next-generation HD dvd player, but we're talking about $1000 to get this thing set up, buy a game, and get it on. All of this is starting to make us really eye the Nintendo DS Lite which hits US shoes in June. This little wonder will sell for around $150, uses cartridge based games, and has been outselling Sony's PSP. The GameBoy never left us, it just changed shape a little.
Our Xbox 360 back at home will be forcing us to check out the new Xbox 360 Camera accessory, and possibly also their new Wireless Racing Wheel. Hopefully the good folks at Blizzard will give us something special for our World of Warcraft character, and we are running the danger of sleeping in Nintendo's booth tonight.
This might be Greek to some of you, but to those about to get your game on, we salute you. And now, to go demo about a million games, geek out, go deaf, and get blisters on our fingers.

Sony is shooting themselves in the foot with PS3. Although, I am pretty biased. I admit I'm a proud XBox owner, and after seeing everything coming out of E3, I'll probably be a proud XBox 360 owner.
LucasArts is not bringing back Sam & Max. After Lucas' project Sam & Max: Freelance Police was cancelled two years ago, the rights reverted back to Steve Purcell, the creator of the Sam & Max comics. He then licensed the characters to Telltale Games to make all new Sam & Max adventures. Although many people at Telltale used to work there, LucasArts has nothing to do with the new Sam & Max games currently in development.
