Jobs in the Balance: Vote on Jamie, Jack and Stench

There’s a poll on Star 98.7’s homepage that asks whether to bring back the station’s morning show team of Jamie, Jack and Stench. As of last night, more than 96 percent of voters said “Yes, bring them back!” Now, LAist thinks that figure is a little high and hard to swallow. Ballot stuffing by rabid fans? Makes us wonder.

While Jamie White’s “slut shtick” has lasted longer than former partners Frosty, Frank and Danny Bonaduce, her voice still ranks right up there with Fran Drescher’s. And Stench’s gravelly Bonaduce-like resonance that ain’t too pleasing on the ears either. They scream. They shriek. And personally, that’s not what we like to hear in the mornings when waking up.

LAist actually likes the fact that Star 98.7 is playing music in the morning and is trying to go dj-less. What a concept. It’s kinda like what Jack’s doing over at 93.1.
