Doing good musically (more to do Sunday)

listingship_live.jpg

We know that by Sunday you may be dog-tired, but this might be the thing to drag you out for one last show. It's a benefit for 4-year-old Fyn Stec, who's been diagnosed with a rare form of liver cancer. Five bands have rallied to help his parents foot the bill for his treatment.

There's Listing Ship (pictured) which combines arty songwriting with gorgeous vocal harmonies and an excellent all-girl string section. Death House Chaplain are dramatic and math-rock-y. The Monolators are a boy-girl "dork rock duo." More geekrock from old-ish school Emm't Swank, who will be reuiniting for the benefit; we hear there will also be some wicked wulitzer and other guests.

It'll be a little arty, a little rocky, and a lot of good.

Benefit for Fyn Stec
Mr. Ts Bowl, Highland Park
Sunday, 4/30 6:00pm
For you, just $10
