He'd be changing diapers. Like right now. None of this galavanting around the world in eight days crap. Tom and his girlfriend Katie Holmes just welcomed baby girl Suri last Tuesday -- and less than a week later, he's halfway around the world promoting M:i:III.
He told reporters in Rome Monday that he would cut the European promotional tour short to rush home to be with his new baby. But Tom ended up staying in Europe after like a billion calls to Kate, who convinced him to keep touring. (Hmmm?)
But why go in the first place? The film is part of a successful franchise, and really, do his live appearances in London, Rome and Paris really improve the box office at home? He's a big enough star to call the marketing shots -- or at least put his priorities in order: Scientology, then Suri then shopping in Paris.

I think you're missing the point-- the baby was part and parcel of the campaign for MI:III, not something external to it.
Hey Ted, that's M:I:III to you. Can't forget the extra colon.
And we all know the baby is an alien and is really named Surrey.
