The late 1950s television series took its name from the address of its hepcat private eyes' office: 77 Sunset Strip (known as Sunset Boulevard to the squares). This 1958 clip features an ingenue named Sharon Hugueny; it was uploaded by her now-adult son, who writes that she was signed by Warner Brothers upon graduating from high school.
LA spotting: there's a nice shot of West Hollywood as the detectives' car pulls out onto Sunset, but we can't figure out where 77 Sunset might have been in 1958. We think the numbering has changed since then; do you know for sure?

Hey, you left out the part where, according to IMDB, Hugueny was married to Robert Evans when she was 17 and he was 31!
THERE IS MUCH LEFT OUT. THE CLIP DID NOT PERTAIN TO HIM.
SHE SHOULD BE REMEMBERED FOR BETTER THINGS.
GIVE THANKS
The office front seen in the opening credits was actually next door to Dean Martin's old restuarant/nightclub, Dino's Lodge at 8524 Sunset. Edd Byrnes' character "Kookie" was a parking attendant at Dino's in the show (you can seem him in that role in the opening). The original structure is no longer there and the 8524 address is now part of an office building on that block. It's next door to the Tiffany Theater at 8523 Sunset. I've got a bunch of Dino's Lodge memorabilia that I've bought off Ebay over the years.
My Mom used to LOVE this show, and she knows the whole theme song. Excellent LA history. What a cool clip.
Tom,
Would you be willing to sell any of the Dino's Lodge stuff.. I have a wonderful old Italian father in law who own's a wonderful Italian restaurant and worships Dean. I would love to get a menu replicia but would settle for an ashtray or napkin :)
thanks.
