Is it just me, or is there not one right angle in this entire project?

It's pretty bland building for a city of dreams. Can't we dream bigger than that?! Look at shanghai... it's not always great but it's way more innovative and iconic.

I know: Tear down the Bradbury and Cliftons' and build a monomaniacal architectural showpiece! Brasilia anyone? Maybe in 50 years this frightful piece of shit will be ironically hip and the artists will move back into its dilapidated ruins.

Wow, a whole 100 units of affordable housing. That's about 450 people who can now afford to live downtown.

J Sparks - of the 500 units they're building, 100 are reserved for affordable housing. From what I understand, that's what will be in the shorter tower.

Looks great. Wonder who's actualy going to be able to afford to live there? I'd be nice if they could spend some of their millions bulding something that real, working citizens can actualy afford to live in.

The theory there is good, it's the execution I don't like. Put bluntly: I like use of the open space, and the sizes of the buildings in relation to each other. I don't like the shapes of the buildings being too similar to Disney Hall.

how are the people going to shop when they can barely fit in the building?!

I love the idea of translucent skinned buildings. The retail unfortunately mimicks too much of Disney Hall, especially the pink glowing building. It needs to be more restrained. I do love that the trees are growing all over the buildings.

I think it looks nice and airy...and Gehry is right, we shouldn't look like other cities such as New York. Why would we want to look like a filthy, suffocating jumble? Or a result of neurotic over-building?

Wow. It's only been made public today, and already it hasn't aged well. Just wait until 2036...can you say "what were we thinking?" Well, you will.
