AM news: DC, guns and LAX

bye bye: White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan is stepping down, he announced this morning. Could Rumsfeld be next?
bang bang: A house in Upland was searched by authorities looking for a gun; they found 900. The 900 guns were behind framed pictures and mirrors, in hollowed-out spaces in closets, under a staircase and behind a trick bookcase. Neighbors, who described the former Army special forces officer as a nice family guy, didn't take much notice of his 7 cars, including a Rolls Royce. Or his black market gun business. At least they had an understanding.
bang bang bang: Two neighbors in San Fernando had a tragic argument over their trash. A street confrontation over the position of trash cans ended when 60-year-old Castulo Navarez fatally shot his neighbor. Police are on the lookout for Navarez, who fled.
remove the laptop, please: LAX needs a few good security screeners. They're ramping up hiring to try to get enough for the busy summer months, during which the airport may be as much as 300 screeners short. Expect delays.
