1) Check out your local farmer's market. Mine is Virginia Park in Santa Monica on Saturdays.
2) Find a great view of Los Angeles. My top 3 are the view from the Getty, Lookout Mountain at night or the top of the hike at Temescal Canyon.
3) Walk Venice Boardwalk. Everyone fits into this eclectic and crazy crowd. If's it a Sunday check out the drum circle on the beach.
4) Magic Castle. That's an only in LA, if I've ever been to one.
5) Find your local Main Street and explore. This could be Larchmont, Vermont, Abbot Kinney, Montana - support your small business owners!

Only 5? Okay.

1. Eat breakfast at Nick's on East Spring street (best breakfast in L.A.)
2. Go to the Geffen MOCA in Little Tokyo, followed by sushi in the neighborhood, followed by beer at the Weiland Brewery.
3. See a new play at one of the many wonderful small theaters in Los Angeles. See what's playing and get 1/2 price tickets at theatrela.org.
4. Wander around the Grand Central Market and have some incredibly fresh and delicious ceviche or a couple of sinfully delicious fried empanadas. Then go shopping in the fashion district and walk it off.
5. Take a stroll through the Los Angeles Arboretum in Arcadia, then hop over to the Santa Anita Race Track for a day at the races. Place $2 bets and scream your head off as your pony races around the most gorgeous racetrack in the country.
