come to Catalina: The Catalina Island Conservancy wants eco-tourists to come to explore the island's massive nature preserve, and is opening a new nature center to sweeten the trip. Critters like Na Shun Tachi, a Santa Catalina fox, await. (photo by Sean Hiller for the Daily Breeze).
new mayor in WeHo: On Monday, John Heilman will be sworn in as the Mayor of West Hollywood. The bad news: he's only got a year.
no yelling in Tustin: A Comedy Central show, called "Dog Bites Man," "American Lives" or something enitrely different, stung Orange County when they set up a political panel discussion for a "documentary" yesterday. No one was told that their "newscaster" moderator would be a comedian in full Ron Burgundy persona. But OC conservatives didn't respond to his provocations: "People don't do that, especially in Tustin," Sharon Underwood, President of the Orange County Federation of Republican Woman, told the LA Times. "We don't just start yelling."
