Extra, extra!

Enjoy Coke: In Mexico City, Mexican soldiers opened up the cargo hold of a commercial flight from Venezuela and found 128 black suitcases marked "private." But they weren't feeling polite: in the cases they found 5.5 tons of cocaine, worth $100 million or more. Wow, those were some big suitcases.
Wacko crash in Encino: Some guy was driving a Crown Victoria all crazy down Ventura Boulevard, being pursued by police. He smashed into a BMW, disabling both vehicles, then jumped out of the car and ran off (the police nabbed him). The BMW driver was taken to a hospital as officers discovered "a weapon and law enforcement-type items" in the trunk of his car. Hmmm, aren't Crown Victorias frequently used by police?
Good mama: Britney and K-Fed will not be arrested for letting their child fall down and bonk his head. We're so relieved.
Mama ESP: LA.com points out that they called Maggie Gyllenhall's now-confirmed bump first.

The crash wasn't in Encino, it was in Sherman Oaks. I went to check out the scene after seeing all the news choppers hovering in the skies over Ventura Blvd. The cars were in-between Woodman and Van Nuys, near the WAMU and McDonalds there (half of the gawkers were McDs workers on break). I'm surprised Channel 7 had the location wrong; you'd think with a chopper in the air and reporters on the ground that someone would know where the hell they were.
