I blame myself. We should've totally boozed it up after that mongolian bbq lunch. Do you think they sexed it up more at the writer's conference? I bet yes. I'm glad you wrote about your SXSW after dark travails...now I can leave my slightly more lascivious tales in draft on my blog.

anon - there were some blogebrities & others who had a blast, and I'm glad you were one of them. Maybe next year I'll have something to hide on my expense report, like buying you a tequila shot -- thanks for the party offer.

CAROLYN. I know this isn't relevant to your post, but your piece in the LA Times BLOWS MY MIND. What SXSWi did you go to? I spent practically the entire weekend in a boozy haze from 4pm - 4am burning austin down with the very same 'showered geeks excited about websites' as you. Practically everyone I hung out with was both aggresively learning and networking during the day and going nuts at night! Just because a) people really were interested in the panels and b) you didn't get to any of the good parties doesn't mean it was weak nerdy sauce - and everyone from my company made that "connection" you failed to make. I'm posting this anon because I don't want the signers of my expense report to come across it, but next year I'll be sure to find you and we'll make sure your SXSWi is as awesome as it should have been in 06.
