8500 lbs. of Beef

Canter's Deli in Fairfax Village, Los Angeles

We stopped by Canter's Deli last night around 11:00 p.m. to see the lines ourselves, witness the hoopla and grab a quick rugula. Daily News reports that Canter's estimated selling "10,000 sandwiches packed with 8,500 pounds of corned beef brisket."

Other Canter's Deli consumption stats:

  • 4,900 pounds of pastrami per month
  • 1,500 gallons of chicken soup a week
  • 4,000 knishes a week

Los Anjealous visited right at 12:00 p.m. and snapped a shot of their meal.

I went yesterday around 1:30 and enjoyed being a cheap ass for lunch. But i think the greatest part of my canters experience was seeing the silverlake five dollar guy waiting in line on my way out.
