Gone Today, Hair Tomorrow

Jeremy Piven2.jpg Jeremy Piven.jpg

So we noticed something when catching a few minutes of Chasing Liberty on HBO last weekend. (Btw, LAist was just channel surfing and not actively watching the forgettable Mandy Moore flick – but we so happened to catch a glimpse of dreamy Matthew Goode from Match Point in it.) But back to the purpose of this post.

Jeremy Piven is also in the movie, playing a secret service agent. We noticed, however, that the hirsute Piven had a little less up top in the 2004 movie than in the cover photo of the latest Los Angeles Magazine.

So while we like Piven, his charm, and the fact that he’s finally stepping out of John Cusack’s shadow and entourage (sorry, we couldn’t resist), LAist was a bit bothered by his new hairstyle in Los Angeles. Whether it was natural, plugs, toupee, Propecia, or whatever, it was too full, too fluffy for Piven.

Jer, we think bald is beautiful.

um, did you happen to catch his baldness on the larry sanders show? the man must be part chia pet. the los angeles magazine cover is MEANT to be incredibly cheesy, right? oh god, please, isn't it?

He was almost completely bald in Seinfeld in the mid-90s when he played "George" on the pilot that Jerry and George wrote for NBC.

In addition to the topside adjustments, he has taken to committing the crime against nature of shaving off that wonderful furpelt that grows easily on his chest. Why, oh why?? Here is a man totally sexy in his natural state getting sucked into remaking himself according to some artificial (and, IMNSHO, perverted) media image. Sad, sad, sad!

More evidence on Piven:

Doesn't everyone know Piven wears a piece? He was balding 10 years ago, so when he "reemerged" on Entourage it seemed obvious he had something done up top.

yeah, doesn't anyone remember him when he was ellen's cousin or roommate or whatever? or from 'grosse pointe blank'? or 'judgment night?' ok, so maybe that last one wasn't so memorable. point is, the dude was balding for years, then kinda dropped outta sight, then suddenly reappeared with a rejuvenated career courtesy of whatever has miraculously restored his hair.

first hand knowledge that the man has more back hair than hair atop his head. he's just mastered the art of the really good comb-over.
