The streets of Hollywood are either desperately, hatefully crowded with traffic or wonderfully open. Hollywood Blvd itself is blocked off, and the regular Sunday Farmer's Market went ahead as scheduled, so even the tricky back routes were hard to navigate.
Of course, if you've got an Oscar street pass in your limo, it's smooth sailing. There are zillions of ready valet parkers, white-gloved traffic cops, and sweaty, exhilarated crowds to scream your name (or Tom Cruise's). But the best way to get around Hollywood today has got to be the Oscar blimp, which floats above all of us, leisurely bloated.

I was in Echo Park yesterday afternoon when the Ameriquest blimp passed directly over us.
Phot of it on Flickr here.
I live a few blocks away from the Kodak theater and that blimp (along with several other helicopters, small airplanes etc.) have been circling above all day.
That blimp has been following me for weeks from Downtown LA to Long Beach, as documented here
and here. Lucky I'm not paranoid. Well, not about this at least.
