Happy b'day LA: Frank Gehry and more

disneyhall.jpg

Pritzker Prizewinner Frank Gehry is LA's most famous architect; Disney Hall is his most famous hometown work. It could be argued that its architectural significance has helped revitalize downtown. We know, he overworks and underpays his staff. But we can't help it; we still like his buildings. Happy 77th birthday, Frank Gehry.

Tony Award-winning actor Robert Sean Leonard, who's now working in Hollywood as a regular cast member of House, turns 37. So does Pat Monahan, lead singer of Train.

Rae Dawn Chong, who appeared opposite Governor Schwarzenegger in 1985's Commando, turns 45. Her dad is Cheech's partner, Tommy Chong.

Actor Charles Durning will be 83. Gilbert Gottfried turns 51. Mercedes Ruehl, Bernadette Peters and director Mike Figgis (Leaving Las Vegas) all turn 58 today.

John Turturro will be 49 today. What's your favorite John Turturro movie? We're trying to pick between Do the Right Thing, Quiz Show, The Big Lebowski, and O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Turturro's best? My vote's for "Quiz Show."

my vote's for Barton Fink

Nobody fucks with the Jesus, man.

I say Big Lebowski.

Miller's Crossing contains the best Turturro performance of all time. Hands down.

Do The Right Thing and Quiz Show both have great performances by him but I always think of him in The Big Lebowski.

Pat Monahan is only 37 ?!? Holy crap.

free poker Have a nice day :)
