Brunchtime news: Pellicano and other evils

rocky.jpg

Had enough Anthony Pellicano stories yet? The LA Times hasn't. Once again the bug-happy private investigator leads the California section. A quick search of the LAT site comes up with 22 hits for "Pellicano" and just 4 for NSA. Is eavesdropping on Sly Stallone that much more important than the feds domestic wiretapping scandal?

Bad news for Clear Channel employees (other than the fact they they've been working for one of the more evil corporate behemoths of our time). Franklin Avenue reports that 40 people were laid off on Friday from KIIS, KBIG, Star, and KLAC.

Speaking of evil corporate behemoths, the Amgen bicycle tour of California is in its last leg today. Riders began at 12:30pm and will do 10 laps of 7.5 miles. ESPN2 will broadcast the final leg at 10pm tonight, but realtime results can be seen on the race's website.
