BarCamp LA is coming!

barcamp.jpg

The easiest way to decsribe BarCamp is to say it like they do: BarCamp ad-hoc un-conference born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from attendees. And it's overnight, like camp! It's coming up in LA, on March 4-5.

The whole local version is being brought to us by Sean Bonner of Blogging.la, Little Radio and a couple of other clever fun folks. Buzznet, for example, is generously providing an evening of beer.

The coolest part of BarCamp is that it's a little like a live wiki: anyone can participate, everyone is encouraged to add their voice. At the very first BarCamp, held last summer in Palo Alto, included an introduction of Pandora, a discussion of the wisdom of crowds, Open Source and more. LA's BarCamp will feature participant presentations on new games, php webapps, user centered design and a bunch of other stuff that sounds cool.

We want to go, even though we're better equipped to talk about a killer cupcakes than a killer app.
