THAT explains why HotTopic sucks, right there. I so want to slap those kids sometimes and tell them, "when I was your age, we had to have REAL antiestablishment attitudes to wear what you're wearing!" I hate CityWalk. IT is the eleventh circle of hell. It represents every negative social aspect of Los Angeles. I consider it pure evil and refuse to go there, and I think Steve Martin could have picked a million better places for peoplewatching venues in Shopgirl. Blech. The Treaty of Cahuenga was signed just across the street from Citywalk, which gave California to America - and THIS is all we can apparently do with it.

I absolutely abhor Citiwalk. But I do end up going up there once or twice a week for lunch [i work at the base of citiwalk and there's a shuttle.] I stopped in to the icky Hot Topic to pick something up. When I told the 18 year old, blue n' red haired girl behind the counter how much i hated Citiwalk she said "why? i love love it!" I just said, "if you don't know why this place sucks, then i can't explain it to you."

Hey, I like City Walk! It's these stupid teenyboppers who hang out there that make it so annoying sometimes. But I wouldn't want the place to get shut down, hell no!

CityWalk was a great idea 15 or even 10 years ago, when places like Old Town Pasadena and the Third Street Promenade were seedy and crime-ridden and Westwood was getting scary. Now that you can even walk around Venice, downtown Long Beach, Ocean Park, and even Koreatown (well, a decent-sized chunk of it, anyway) without having to worry about getting mugged, why bother to go there?
