Looks like the justifiably famous British graffiti artist Banksy has recently been visiting our fair city-- we spotted these three rats on Melrose a few blocks north of Fairfax. You may remember Banksy from his world-reknown punking of three New York museums-- check out more of his art at his website, or at Streetsy. Have you seen Banksy anywhere else around town? We'd love to take some more pictures. [Note: the correct spelling of Banksy's name is with the K before the S-- we always call him Bansky, which is wrong-- that's b/c we're a little dyslexic. Sorry!]

I think you meant east or west on Melrose, or did you mean a few blocks north of Melrose on Fairfax?
yep-- i meant east on melrose! i'm a little dyslexic with direction. there is, however, a great buffmonster and seizer piece on fairfax NORTH of melrose, in case you head up that way.

the rumor on the street is that Bansky is going to be in the next issue of swindle
we saw one this morning in los feliz after breakfast at fred 62. so im not positive where we saw it. perhaps on our walk afterwards in the hillhurst/melbourne area? god, wish i could remember street names, OR the location. but nonetheless it was definitely near that area.

i live along melrose and love street art.
the rat got a laugh out of me.
an asian photographer noticed my reaction
and started shooting. so the little rat is
spinning around the world.

I hear that also another UK street guy called Mr Eggs is heading out to here soon for some rather big works. This guy smuggled work into banksys show and updated some of banksys.
Not sure if this is just all crap but thats what a buddy of mine said he is in DC next month then here in LA.
