Chip, Because it's QUIET. Every coffee house I've ever been to has someone on a cell phone "OH MY GOD, did you hear what Becky did? Well...", or the espresso machine "PPPSSSHHHHHWWWWWWWWWWW!", or two annoying people debating the ins and outs of last night's episode of "Two and a Half Men". No thanks. There's no talking at this place, no phones, no lights, no motor cars. The only luxury is comfy chairs (Herman Miller Aeron chairs), free WiFi, and my own brain. It's well worth the (current) cost.

What makes The Office better than any coffe house with free wi-fi? I want to know why people dont mind paying $5.95/hr. Is it mostly for freelance writers who cant get stuff done at home?
