Shelterporn around town

We hate to do this, we really do, because it is letting el gato right out of the bag. Curbed LA has the skinny on lofts in development that may be the coolest in the city, in the East LA community of Boyle Heights. The Buena Vista Lofts will have views of Hollenbeck Park and downtown LA. The building, a former hospital, is a recently-designated historic landmark. There will be actual greenspace. Sigh. We're falling in love.

Today in eBay LA: a set of 4 white molded plastic chairs for $295; a vintage 50s Wedgewood stove for pickup only is a steal at $50; a pickup-only vintage Tiffany lamp is $80,000.

Cruising Craigslist for home stuff we managed to find, in between all the Ikea-this and Ikea-that listings, a pair of Danish-ish chairs for $225, a Michelob lamp to hang over your pool table for $20, and a 5-foot tall Homer Simpson statue/molded figurine that sings — just $250.
