Leif Garrett has been charged with possession of heroin, after taking the subway to score. The most grisly part of the story: he's been in jail since the weekend, and his banged-up face makes us think maybe former boy pinups don't do so well in jail.
But we are left with so many questions:
Leif was picked up on the Pershing Square subway platform, carrying heroin. At which subway stop did Leif buy his drugs? MacArthur Park? Does anyone still sell drugs at Pershing Square?
In March, he was caught with "attempted possession" of "cocaine-based substances." Does that mean crack? Speedballs? Cocaine-based lasagna?
Why oh why didn't VH-1 bail him out? How sad to leave the poor boy behind bars. You could bring cameras, we're sure. Or is celeb-reality not ready for Leif's life?

He obviously had walked over from central city east, where there's heroin galore. Main Street is just three short blocks east of the Pershing Square station. Fifth and Main, in fact, is a very dependable score.
Don't know about these days but there used to be plenty of H sold around 8th and Hill in the 80s. The dealers used to hang out at the Golden Gopher bar. That's how things were, don't know what's up nowadays with the changes in downtown LA

Golden Gopher's cleaned way up. The dealers are concentrated further east in the south Skid Row open-air drug market.
Re forehead: I think someone may have punched him with a huge ring or brass knuckles at some point.
Hey let you know that I took a good look at those photos as I do not believe that this mug photo (police picture) is NOT Leif Garrett since it's NOT the same feature of his face after all!
Why would those cops smash up this guy's head if it was Leif Garrett?? C'mon and clear this up!
Oh, it's not the cops who punched him up--it's probably a dealer who he stiffed on payment.

Hi there, it's me again... speaking of why Leif tends to wear those bandana so low on his forehead? It's my guess that Leif probably felt uncomfortable that he's bald but who knows? (No offensive, Leif) So it's probably why he's wearing those kind of thing to cover it up. I am sure that you may have seen those questionaire thru AOL for those fans who had voted for him and what do they remember about him? His movies? his music? his hair? or his troubles? So after voted for him and high percent voted for his hair! So it's possibly why he's flattered by it. I do have a long forehead which I hate it so I had to cover it up with my hair band for years! ;p
