New Blue

Ned Colletti and the Los Angeles Dodgers have been busy trying to clean the mess left by former GM Paul DePodesta. In spite of the injuries that decimated the roster, there was no doubt that the pennant was winnable down the stretch.. Instead of banding together to try and salvage the season, infighting and poor play killed any chance the team had. Eventually killing not only their post-season hopes but costing the DePodesta his job and forcing manager Jim Tracy to find happiness elsewhere.
A team that two seasons ago won the pennant has now been transformed twice. While the results from the first change produced one of the worst seasons in Dodger history, hope abounds for this version of the Dodgers. Players will almost certainly have to introduce themselves to fans and each other when spring training rolls around. One thing that we do know for certain, is that they are a veteran group. Former stars like Kenny Lofton, Nomar Garciaparra and Sandy Alomar Jr. hope to bring some of their veteran leadership as well as some of the play that made them All-Stars.
There are still plenty of holes to fill, notably the lack of pitching and a healthy outfield, but if current trends continue, Colletti and the Dodgers will have that need addressed soon. Get the team guide when they arrive this coming season. We will most certainly need them.
