Take the Train

Take the train or the bus for that matter for free today. MTA doesn't want your drunk driving ass bloodying up the streets.

Speaking of having someone else drive you, LAist New Year's recommendation for the future: make a car or taxi reservation for your new year's festivities early. We wanted a cab to come get us last night and drive us from the valley to Santa Monica but we were met with busy signal after busy signal for 30 minutes straight. We had to drive ourselves and that left one of our party as the designated driver.

We felt so bad for them while we took an entire bottle of champagne straight to the dome.

And finally, Giant Village wasn't the only cancellation. Totally Unauthorized says the Paramount party was also squashed for fear that LA's pretty people would melt.

Everyone should've taken our advice and gone to see Breakestra. They funked up our New Year's Eve somethin' lovely.
